End-to-end encrypted communications
AES-256 encryption for voice and data and TLS 1.3 for transport: radio and command communications stay protected across the entire chain, from the team in the field to the control room.

How a dedicated encrypted radio network is built.
The entire system stays inside a perimeter isolated from the public network: the control room reaches the radio site over two independent links, and from the site the encrypted radio network reaches the mobile positions of the teams.

Encrypted radio network

Radio sites and area coverage

The teams receive their radio terminals
We supply and program the field teams’ radio terminals in TETRA, DMR, and P25 technology. We are an authorized reseller for Motorola Solutions, Hytera, and Kenwood and the exclusive Funktronic distributor for Italy, and we integrate compatible equipment from other manufacturers.

The radio network is installed across the territory
We design and install the dedicated radio network: TETRA, DMR, and P25 radio sites with VHF/UHF links and microwave backhaul links independent of the public network, to cover the operational area without relying on external infrastructure.

The equipment stays isolated from the public network
The base stations and radio gateways are installed on dedicated infrastructure, with clear segmentation from public networks: the system is not reachable from the Internet and stays under the customer’s exclusive control.

The control room coordinates from a single station
The operator works on the Respondr console, deployed on the customer’s servers: it brings TETRA, DMR, and P25 radio networks together in a single interface, with end-to-end AES-256 encryption, role-based access control, SSO integration, and traceability of every operator.

The spectrum and communications stay monitored
TP-RFX continuously monitors the presence of the radio carriers and flags any degradation, while Respondr’s built-in recording system stores the communications: every call stays documented, with date, time, and channel, to reconstruct how each event was handled.

Frequently asked questions.
The questions we are asked most often about this type of system.
Can the system work without any connection to the Internet?
Yes. The dispatch platform is installed on the customer servers and the radio equipment on the customer network, inside a perimeter that cannot be reached from the public network: day-to-day operation requires no outbound connection at all. Software updates and support are agreed case by case, either on physical media or over a temporary link that the customer opens and closes. Data transport between sites also stays internal, because microwave links replace the lines of public operators.
Who manages the encryption keys for the radio network?
The keys remain in the hands of the organization that owns the network. During commissioning we configure the encryption parameters on the network equipment and the terminals, then hand over to the designated staff the tools provided by the equipment manufacturer and the procedure for generating, loading, and replacing the keys. How often they are replaced is set by the customer’s internal rules, not by ours.
Can terminals and radio equipment already in service be reused?
In large part yes, and the check is done model by model before the design work starts. The dispatch console brings together analog VHF/UHF networks, DMR Tier II and Tier III, TETRA, P25, and PTT communications over the cellular network: equipment from the main manufacturers connects through a gateway, without rebuilding the network. What falls outside are terminals that do not work in the bands of the new network and those that do not support the required encryption, and those have to be replaced: better to know before the tender than once the system is up and running.
After handover, can internal staff run the system without the supplier?
Yes. The administrators appointed by the customer manage users, roles, and talkgroups from the console, with permissions assigned per operational profile and a record of every operator’s actions. Together with the installation we hand over the technical documentation, the user manuals, and the administration credentials. Reprogramming the radio terminals, on the other hand, requires the manufacturer’s software: it is agreed in advance whether this is handled by the customer’s technicians, trained on the installation, or by us under a support contract.

No closed systems: we use open protocols, let different technologies coexist on the same equipment, and hold the certifications that public tenders require.

Integration with the customer’s systems
Equipment states and alarms interface with the customer’s supervision platforms via SNMP, relay contacts, and APIs: the information reaches you where you already work.
